Plus enjoy hunting, fishing, bird watching and geocaching.

Hunting opportunities are bountiful including upland birds, waterfowl to white tail deer.

Fishing offers Northern Pike, Walleye and Perch.

Birdwatchers can enjoy an array of species in Logan County. Situated on the Central Flyway between major refuges in South and North Dakota many waterfowl and shorebirds pass through every year. A recent rare sighting of the Great Black-backed Gull was made at West Lake, just outside Napoleon. South Lake on the northern edge of the county is a well-known migration stopover. Check out Beaver Lake State Park for migrant and resident waterfowl and shorebirds. Travel into the northeast part of the county to look for native grassland sparrow species and Sprague’s pipits. The city of Napoleon with its trees is a “migrant magnet” for passerine species migrating over extensive farm and grasslands.

Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container (usually a tupperware or ammo box) containing a logbook. Larger containers can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value. Geocaching is most often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek", sharing many aspects with orienteering, treasure-hunting, and waymarking.Geocaches are currently placed in over 100 countries around the world and on all seven continents, even Antarctica.
